Are you ready for an event????

Learning from Haiti

As we can now see and have seen from other events, in a full scale disaster you will be on your own, people have become blind sheep and have lost there survival skills most have never had any, how did we reach this point??
Folks you will be on your own in a major event you should never count on the government even at the local level to be able to help you, that ended in the days of civil defense.

In a major disaster expect many of the government, civil servants, police, doctors to be lost there not gods only people.

This topic will help you prepare for such an event.

Greetings! Looks like I'm here on my own tonight! I wanted to respond to your Be Ready topic as a retired police officer, a Conservative Christian, a mom and a Nana. The most important step in being prepared is, of course, to be spiritually secure. Asking the Lord to be your savior and redeemer will not only change your life in ways you can never imagine, but it will also give you the gift of eternal life. Those of us who are saved will not even SEE the worst of the tribulations to come and will have little need for much preparation at all.
If you do not belong to a salvation church, find one, a.s.ap. Talk to the pastor and attend Bible studies, LEARN the Truth and experience the security of having nothing to fear. If you choose not to do this, then yes, you DO need to prepare in a big way. First, get your firearms and ammo NOW, while you still can. Learn to use them, practice until you can handle your weapons with your eyes closed. While you're at it, start writing those letters to every politician you can find an address for, and tell them that the Constitution is the law of our land and not open to their liberal interpretations. Protect the second amendment, YOUR right to bear arms! You WILL need them!
Have on hand about a months' worth of food at a time, other than what you buy for your regular meals, and bottled water. Canned goods keep forever, but NEVER buy dented cans, as air can seep in and spoil the contents. Give up some of the technology and go back in time. Hand can openers, wind-up flashlights and radios, oil lanterns, wood stoves, extra blankets instead of electric ones, you get my drift. Pretend there is no power, practice surviving without it. Have a plan for what you and each family member will be responsible for in an emergency and practice until everyone does their part automatically.
Be discreet. When the fit hits the shan, even your best friend will take you out if his family is starving and you have food. Keep your stocks to yourself, but don't hoard. God does not bless hoarders. Solar items will be useful for a time, until the sun no longer shines.First Aid items and personal hygeine supplies are a must, as is medication. If you take prescription meds, and ONLY if it is SAFE to do so, try skipping one or two pills a week and save some up for an emergency, when refills will not be available. Each month or every other month, replace the stocked-up meds with fresh ones and use the ones you had stocked up, so your supply will not lose its' effectiveness.
Include in your plan ONLY the people with whom you would want to spend many days shut-in with. Tensions build quickly when people are frightened and hungry, and you MUST be able to trust whomever you take into your preparedness group. EVERY member of that group must contribute something to the cause, whether it be food, ammo, medical supplies, candles, lamp oil, whatever, they must ALL be responsible and able to share equally at all times. A Bible should be the most important book you put in your emergency kit. It will explain what to expect next and give you an advantage.
Most important of all, is not to be so obsessed with what MIGHT come to pass in your lifetime, that you forget to relax and live NOW! Work on your plan like you would work on any project, a little at a time, and continue to live as you always have. Have fun, socialize, buy that plasma t.v with the big screen or that new car. Only God knows when the Tribulation will begin, and even Jesus does NOT know. What we are seeing now, are the signs that the end days are drawing near. NEAR can mean a day, or a million days, so don't allow fear to keep you from living and seizing every happy moment you can now, while all is still pretty sane. Why miss it?
No matter what your religion is, or even if you have NO religion, take comfort in prayer. It may seem uncomfortable at first, but it gets easier. Don't wait too long to get to know God. You don't want to be one of the lost who will meet him, only to have Him say, "I never knew you." Maybe you don't believe, and that is your choice and your right. But, knowing all you do about world conditions right now, do you REALLY want to take the chance? ;)
